On Saturday June 8th, a busload of SWRTA members joined over 10,000 other teachers from across New York state to rally in support of public education.

Two highlights from the rally:
Tom Chapin performed his song “Not on the Test.”
One of the most impressive speakers of the day was Nikhil Goyal, recent Syosset High School graduate and author of the book “One Size Does Not Fit All: A Student’s Assessment of School.” If you’re not familiar with this remarkable young man, you can read about him here or here or pick a copy of his book.
